Prices Slip While Sales Volume Tumbles: Davis CA Residential Real Estate Stats – 1st 6 months.

Most glaring statistic has to be the number of transactions comparing 200o with 2009, down from a whopping 414 sales in the first 6 months of the year to a paultry 149, a precipitous decline of 64%. Average prices for the first 6 months are back to roughly 2004 levels, at approximately $500,000, after  peaking at $607,423 in 2006. It’s a modest decline of 18% when compared to many neighboring communities where prices have collapsed in excess of 60%.
